What is AIJAC? AIJAC stands for The Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC). In their one word on their ‘about us page’, they say “AIJAC conveys the interests of the Australian Jewish community to government, media and other community organisations.”. The Role AIJAC has, is lobbying interest to our government, which in itself is a good concept. However due to the nature of the organisation, they tend to lobby for Israel and Israeli Jews more than the supposed Australian Minority group.
AIJAC is involved in a couple of Programs, their ‘Visitor Program’ where they invite International Speakers to private and public events, or even their new webinar series where they lobby to the positions of power, their foreign affairs. They also have quarterly magazines ‘Australia/Israel Review’, or “AIR”. Where they discuss developments in the middle east which affect Israel and public policies that may interest the Australian Jewish Community. They additionally run the ‘Fresh AIR (Australia/Israel Review)’, blog which will give you more up to date information of Israel and the AIJAC organisation.
Now all the above is frankly not that bad, and well within any organisation's rights. Where the true suspicious nature of this organisation starts to be abundantly present is their ‘RAMBAM Israel Fellowship’ program. This program parallels the likes of AIPAC in the US. This Israeli Lobby group program targets Senior Journalists, Politicians, Political Advisers, Senior Public Servants and Student Leaders. They take these selected individuals and give them the Israeli Propaganda trip experience. The style of tour parallels the ones North Korea offer in levels of bias and deception. Only showing them what is nice, having them escorted with armed security and only permitting them to enter certain areas so they can never see the real occupied Israel, for what it is.
This means we have Politicians, Public Servants, Journalists and other people in positions of power, who have potentially been completely programmed into prioritizing Israel, despite it costing the Australian People.
AIJAC further has an active association with the American Jewish Committee. They referred to it as a “Global Partnership”, to bring understanding of issues and challenges lying in the future for the (in their own words) “World Jewry”.
